Accident closed A259

A 63-year-old man was taken to hospital after a crash on the A259 left the road closed for more than one hour on Friday (July 3).

Two cars, one a MG Midget, the other a Toyota, and a bicycle collided outside Roundstone Garden Centre at about 5.45pm.

The driver of the MG, believed to be in his 50s, had to be cut from his car by fire crews from East Preston, and the cyclist was taken to

Worthing Hospital with face and arm injuries.

A mother and her two young daughters, riding in the Toyota, got out of their car before the emergency services arrived, and were unhurt.

Traffic was diverted through Angmering while the road was closed.
