Action call made over yob scourge

MUCH more needs to be done to tackle anti-social behaviour in the Adur district, says a council report.

There are many significant success stories and a great deal of positive feedback but there are also continuing high levels of fear of crime and concern about anti-social behaviour.

The report says: "There have been instances of large numbers of youths fighting in the street and intimidating communities to the extent people feared to go out in the evenings."

It says that while the council and its partners have made good progress in tackling anti-social behaviour, more needs to be done particularly in addressing the underlying causes of anti-social behaviour.
