Action group improves safety in town centre

BOGNOR is becoming a cleaner and safer place to live in thanks to the town's action group.

The Bognor Town Centre Action Group (BTCAG) aims to reduce criminal damage and anti-social behaviour and has been working hard to identify areas across the town that are of particular concern.

Hothampton Garden, also known as the Sunken Garden, in Waterloo Square saw groups of people regularly congregate in the evenings to drink alcohol.

The resulting litter, criminal damage and anti-social behaviour made the gardens an unwelcoming place.

Visibility of the garden was also reduced by the overgrown shrubs and trees that obscured the view of the town's CCTV cameras.
