On June 13, Southwick Square will be transformed into a Food Of Love street party, from 9.30am to 2pm. We have booked some fantastic street performers and Pop Gun Productions, the winners of our Food Of Love funding, are organising The Fishersgate Popcorn Parade, as well as a bicycle decoration workshop.

There will also be a range of other community performances and activities, such as the Gladrags Dress Up Box and Storytelling, Shoot From The Hip Tribal Belly Dance, Food Of Love Recipe Boards, face painting, drawing, with delicious global street food from the Sussex Street Diner team, and much more.

We are very grateful to Southwick Christian Community Church, which is putting on three events. Art Attack on the Green at Southwick Green on June 6 promises arts and crafts, dance, competitions and refreshments, and they are returning to the green on the evening of the street party for a barbecue and cream teas with live music. On the final day of the festival, they are hosting an all-age church service.

Each Saturday of the festival, at Manor Cottage Heritage Centre, the Southwick Society is presenting Southwick’s Lost World, an exhibition about the history of Albion Street. There are also three chances for history buffs to join Malcolm Campbell for his historic guided walk of Southwick.

Lastly, we’re pleased to have Southwick Library taking part, which is running a pair of Baby Rhyme Time sessions, open to all babies and toddlers.
