Adur Festival launch

THE Adur Festival celebrated its 18th birthday on Tuesday with a colourful launch event on Kingston Beach, Shoreham.

This year's festival runs from Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 19. To launch the annual event, local artist Hamish McKenzie wrapped Shoreham Lighthouse in a birthday ribbon.

Father Marcus Ronchetti, from the Church of the Good Shepherd, Shoreham Beach, was joined by dancers and musicians, representing some of the festival's 160 different events, to jump out of a large birthday cake, accompanied by music from the Boundstone Community College Band.
