Adventurers raise thousands after tacking the Three Peaks Challenge

A team of tenacious adventurers have raised over £5,000 for charity after successfully completing the mighty National Three Peaks Challenge, conquering the three highest summits in England, Scotland and Wales during one weekend.

The group of intrepid travellers, named Team Retribution, included Peter Sutton and Graham Walker from PMW Communications in Billingshurst, Peter’s sons Luke and Christopher, and their friend Tommi Hammond.

The team was lead by outdoor adventure expert Richard Betts from Billingshurst-based Pied a Terre Adventures and was supported by team cook Tracie Carter – also from PMW Communications - and driver Gary Bishop.

The teams numerous sponsors included fellow Sussex businesses PAV i.t. services located in Sayers Common and Chandlers Building Supplies in Ringmer.

With a staggering combined height of 3,407 metres and an estimated walking distance of 27 miles, the National Three Peaks Challenge is one of the toughest tests of stamina and endurance climbers will undertake in the UK and requires participants to climb the peaks of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis consecutively.

Peter Sutton said: “It was an amazing adventure, which has created some incredible memories for all of us. The team was absolutely oustanding approaching each new summit with unwavering force and positivity. A huge congratulations to all of them for a job extremely well done.
