Age UK hopes to spread the warmth this winter by bus

Every year many older people across East Sussex become isolated and lonely during the cold winter months.

This is why Age UK East Sussex is working to stop older people suffering needlessly this winter by raising awareness and spreading some winter warmth across our county.

To help local older people stay active members of the community this winter we want more to have the opportunity of visiting our Community Clubs across East Sussex.

Here they can keep warm and safe, enjoy a freshly cooked hot meal, take part in stimulating activities, make new friends and socialise.

It is our target this year through our Spread the Warmth campaign to buy a minibus to collect people from their homes so that they have the opportunity to enjoy a day at one of our Community Clubs and stay safe and warm.

You can help by donating your Winter Fuel Payment, if you feel you don’t need it, to Age UK East Sussex and our Spread the Warmth Minibus Appeal.

This will help combat the loneliness and isolation felt by many older people in the county as they will be able get out and about this winter and in years to come.
