ALdingbourne Trust hosts charity golf day

The sportsmen and women gathered together and swung their clubs for the fundraising golf tournament held at Walberton’s Avisford Park Golf Course.

Some £1,403.11 was raised for the Aldingbourne Trust, a local charity which supports adults with learning disabilities.

The trust also received some very kind donations and hole sponsorship from local companies towards the event, including Henry Adams, Bruce K9 Lt and the Brockhurst Dental Practice.

Tournament organiser Gavin Pusey said: “Thanks to everyone who joined us again this year.

“It was nice to see some new faces, who made our second golf day fantastic.

“We are also very grateful for the generous donations that were made.”

The winners were presented with the Aldingbourne Golf Tournament trophies.

The men’s competition was won by Kevin Murphy with Alex Hilditch runner-up.

Karen Harding won the ladies competition, with Janet Tong coming in second.

The trust would like to thank Avisford Park Golf Club for hosting the event and Gavin Pusey for arranging the day which took place on August 23.

They would also like to thank all the participants and the donors of raffle prizes and money. Another event in aid of the charity took place on September 6.

All That Malarkey made their Edinburgh debut in fresh and sassy style and they will be bringing their show to Goodwood House.

The opera-inspired cabaret group’s programme will include brand-new arrangements of operatic classics, R&B, musical theatre, cheesy pop, jazz and much more besides.

The five-strong group are recent graduates of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

There will be a champagne reception before the concert and an opportunity to look around the venue.

Proceeds from both events will go towards the trust’s £4 million appeal to fund new developments at their country centre in Blackmill Lane, Norton.

The improvements will boast a conference centre, shop and café and allow the charity to increase its self-sufficiency and continue to offer the high quality of support it provides for adults with learning disabilities.
