Aldwick artists exhibit work

A new exhibition is being staged in Aldwick by a group of artists.

The show is the latest biennial display to be put on by St Richard's Art Group.

The 12 members will have a variety of their paintings on view between 2pm and 4.30pm on August 11 at their meeting place of Mosse Hall behind St Richard's Church in Gossamer Lane.

At least 60 works of art are expected to be contributed by the art group. Tea and homemade cakes will be on sale to provide a social atmosphere to the occasion.

Art group secretary Jane Norman said donations would be encouraged to the Chestnut Tree House children's hospice. A raffle for the same good cause would also be held.

'People are always very generous. They come to donate and have a tea as well as to look at the paintings,' she explained.

The last exhibition, in 2005, raised about 200 for the Wessex Cardiac Trust based in Southampton.
