IT'S PANTO TIME: The flood waters have finally receded and the village remained open throughout. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and for those trying to come into the village, your patience was appreciated. As the cold spell looks like it's here to stay, our Inns and Hotels have stoked their fires ready to welcome all. If you are looking for an evening or afternoon of warmth, laughter and a little madness look no further, the village is ringing to the sound of thigh slapping as Panto rehearsals are in full swing. This year Robin Hood and his very merry men will be galloping into action Friday January 29 (7.30pm) and Saturday January 30 (2pm and 7.30pm) at Alfriston War Memorial Hall, The Tye. There will be a licensed bar and charity raffle in aid of The Chestnut Tree House Children's Hospice. Purchase your tickets from Hicks Newsagent, Waterloo Square. Friday evening and Saturday matinee Â£5 adult, Â£3 child, Â£14 family; Saturday evening Â£6 adult, Â£4 child or Â£17 family.
