Long-standing member Alison Merriman was voted by members to become its latest chairman.

She said she intended to use the coming 12 months to promote the association more and to try to recruit younger members.

Her vice chairman was chosen as former chairman, Heather Perrott.

The votes at the association's annual meeting at Bognor Regis Town Hall came after some 30 members heard retiring chairman Brian Vaughan report on yet another successful year.

It was one in which the association had hosted visits by guests from the two German twin towns of Weil am Rhein and Trebbin.

A full programme of the coming year's social events was announced.
