All hands to the pumps at Guides' fair

ONCE a Guide always a Guide, and from the Rainbows through to Trefoil Guild veterans everyone was hard at work at Guide Headquarters on Saturday.

With a visit from Father Christmas the highlight to come later in the day, all the units in the Bexhill Division were united in singleness of purpose under one roof.

Divisional Commissioner Carol Crerie explained why the division needs to raise as much money as possible.

"We need it to maintain this hall but also we need to put a percentage aside for 2010 which will be our Centenary year as a movement.

"The celebrations will include lots of events and that will entail travel and other costs."

In this spirit, the 1st Bexhill Brownies were running a button game; the Sidley Brownies were selling books and CDs; the Ninfield Brownies were doing the refreshments; the 2nd Bexhill Brownies were selling large cakes; the 19th were selling small cakes; the 3rd Bexhill Brownies were running the lucky dip; the 10th and the 9th Guides had the bathroom stall; the 3rd Rainbows biscuits; the 1st Bexhill Guides a chocolate tombola; the 9th Guides were nail-painting; the1st Bexhill Rangers cards, the Trefoil Guild were doing the main tombola and other friends were running the gift stall.
