ALL ROADS have now been opened again after a lorry overturned at the Southerham Roundabout near Lewes.
However motorists should still expect delays on the A27 near Lewes and in the town, as the backlog of traffic will need time to clear.
An overturned lorry which was carrying scrap metal caused havoc earlier this morning when it shed its load at the roundabout.
Recovery work and a fuel spillage also added to the problem.
There was congestion on the A27 both ways at the A26 (Southerham Roundabout), congestion on the A27 eastbound to the A277 Brighton Road (Kingston Roundabout).
Emergency services had partially obstructed the road in both directions whilst they attended to the accident on the eastbound carriageway.
Traffic in Lewes High Street continues to be heavy.
Police were advising drivers to use an alternative route.
