All Saints success

A warm and friendly atmosphere was waiting at the All Saints church hall coffee morning on Saturday.

It was undeniably grey and gloomy outside but all that was forgotten as visitors settled in for a cosy couple of hours bargain hunting and a chat over a drink and biscuit.

The event was well attended, as Derek Chamberlain confirmed as he collected entrance fees at the door.

He said: "It has been very successful - there have been more people in today than expected."

Organiser Pat Cooper, of the fundraising committee, commented: "We do get quite a few in - they come in early, because they think they will find a bargain...then most of them stay all morning. We have a lot of regulars who come every time we advertise the coffee morning. This is to raise funds for the church - it is expensive to keep a church going these days."
