All shook up at competition win

SWEET-toothed Gary Yeo has won a month’s supply of milkshake after coming top in a competition to design a new shake to be served at a popular Battle refreshment stop. Cat Ridley took over the Lunch Bar in Old Ladies Court on February 16. The Hastings-based businesswoman gave the shop a 1950s makeover, complete with new milkshake bar.

To mark the new venture, Cat ran a competition on Facebook inviting people to design a new milkshake, to be served at the Lunch Bar. The competition received a great response, with flavour suggestions including Angel Delight and chilli chocolate. But Gary’s idea of using classic 1970s sweets proved the winner. Cat said: “He came up with a 70s theme, with flying saucers, strawberry laces and that, and I thought it was really fun.” The milkshake will be on the menu for the next month.
