All systems go for Bersted parish festival

This year's Bersted parish festival this Sunday (July 13) provides plenty for everyone.

It takes place between 10am and 5pm at the Jubilee playing fields off Chalcraft Lane.

There will be no bouncy castle because of the parish council's decision to ban all inflatables from its premises due to the risk of an accident.

But there will be masses of other attractions to keep all ages amused.

Classic cars, a dog show, a children's colouring competition thanks to local cartoonist Mike Jupp, beat the goalie and wang a welly competitions, fairground rides and model train rides are among them.

Handbell ringers, Arun Sounds ladies barbershop chorus, a magic man and Punch and Judy will provide entertainment. A car boot sale will start at 1pm.
