All the fun of the big top at Westergate

A big top will see the circus come to Westergate Community School next week '“ and everyone's invited.

The Cirque de Normandy will be visiting the school as part of the build-up to its launch as a specialist visual and performing arts school in September.

The performers will be staging a special show for the public in the school grounds at 6pm on Tuesday, July 22. Gates open at 4.30pm when visitors will be able to soak up the pre-show atmosphere at a range of stalls.

The public show will follow one for the school's staff and students earlier that day.

The artistes will arrive on Monday, July 21, for a series of workshops to pass on their skills to pupils.

The two days will also feature drumming, journalism, hip-hop dancing and spray-can art events to cater for all 730 students' creative abilities.
