Maresfield Bonners Primary School children have been involved at every stage in the library project. Juniors worked with artist in residence Rob Lamb from Brighton to design story book characters which were copied on to acetate and projected on to the walls of the library to be painted by Mr Lamb.

And the whole school worked together to produce their own hard backed books which range in size from A4 to A2. Mixed age groups of children worked with teachers and classroom assistants and while some generated computer graphics to illustrate the books others used their own hand drawings.

Head teacher Miss Marion Ponting said she was delighted with the end result. The school was helped by a grant of 2,000 towards library furniture from the Southover Manor Trust and spent a further 2,000 on new books.
