The festival offers local, regional and national ales, ciders and lagers with 120 beers to chose from.

Of these 70 percent will be local to 1066 Country or the south coast.

The beers have been sourced with the assistance of wet sales specialist HT Whites & Co; the largest independent drinks distributor in the South East.

Once again the festival organisers, in partnership with HT Whites, are producing an own-brand Hastings Beer and Music Festival Beer.

This year it is called the ‘T21’, in recognition of the Hastings Round Table, which contributes so much to charity fund raising in the Hastings area.

‘T21’ is brewed by McEwan’s and with a 3.6% abv, has a pleasant light malty flavour. Most important is the fact that each pint sold will contribute directly to the charity fund for local good causes.

Last year the festival lager sold more than 9,000 pints over the three-days of the event. To cope with this, the festival needs Europe’s longest continuous bar and numerous volunteers to keep the queues manageable.

Beer Festival chairman Colin Gooch said: “We have worked hard to create not only a ‘real ale’ drinkers selection of ales, ciders and beers, but also one that can be enjoyed by all our festival-goers who enjoy a social drink. We believe that we still have a festival that caters for all of our revellers.”

The Festival starts on Thursday July 2 with a Prom Evening with Roger Wilcock conducting the Hastings Big Choir, brass and percussion.

Friday July 3 is Rock the Park with SnakeByte, Loose Moose, Dead Rabbits and The Cavaliers.
