Amberley Musum needs new volunteers

The museum reopens on April 9, and helpful industrial history enthusiasts are wanted.

Kate Russell, museum spokeswoman, said nearly 300 volunteers contributed to the success of the museum, and at the same time pursuing their interests or learning new skills, ever year.

“They also have the satisfaction of providing enjoyment for thousands of visitors while sharing the comradeship and rewards of being part of a team,” she said.

“With its diverse range of exhibits, the museum can offer a wide range of volunteering experiences for people of all ages. Some volunteers choose to use existing skills and areas of expertise, while others welcome the opportunity to learn something different. Above all, the volunteers enjoy the interaction with the museum’s visitors and sharing their knowledge with others.”

Volunteers are needed for the ticket office and shop, and at special events, such as the real ale festival, and food and craft fairs.
