AND THE WINNERS ARE ....

MORE than 250 people - former students from last year's year 11 and their families - attended Lewes Priory School's annual awards evening on Tuesday in the school hall.

An 'exceptional achievement' award went to Emily Thornton, who achieved eight high grade GCSEs, represented the school at dance and athletics and made an excellent contribution to Priory - and all this despite being profoundly deaf.

Guest speaker, local author Nicky Singer, presented the

prizes, and a number of musicians from last year's Year 11 entertained.

GCSE and other certificates were presented by tutors.
