Anglo-French market rolls into town

Is that the smell of fresh baguettes, melting brie, olives and garlic?

Indeed it is...Bexhill is home once again to the ever popular ango-french market which lines Devonshire Road every September.

This year as the market rolls into town it's expected 50 traders will set up their stalls to sell a wide variety of goods.

Sue Sprice of Bexhill Chamber of Commerce and Tourism said: "For the first time we have a trader from Portugal selling Olive, Orange and Lemon trees.

"All the usual French traders will be here including the very popular French flower man who will be outside Barclays Bank.

"Lots of local traders are attending such as H & H Confectionery and many new traders including Cup Cakes, Art from the seashore, Bake Your Own Dog Biscuits, Personalised Embroidery, and Mosaic Mad Romans with activities for the youngsters. This market has something for everybody, please come and visit and make the town centre buzz with activity.

"This market does benefit the town centre, visitors to the market do use our shops, and they certainly use the cafes and restaurants in town."
