BLOOMING brilliance has been praised in Angmering.

Awards were presented to some of the village’s top amateur horticulturists during the Angmering Best Front Garden and Best Allotment Competition, hosted by the Haskins Garden Centre.

More than 20 residents were applauded for their efforts during this year’s event.

The best front garden award was shared by Michael and Naomi Collis of The Spotted Cow, in High Street, for their pub’s garden, and Margaret Goulding for her colourful display at her home, in Lansdowne Road. Both winners received a certificate and a bottle of wine as well as a £50 voucher donated by Haskins.

The prize for the top allotment went to Janet Price. Jeniffer McAvoy and Derek Bray-Cotton were runners-up.

Jenny Bos, chairman of the Angmering In Bloom Association, thanked all those who took part and judged during the show. She added that she was “very impressed” by the high standard of the competition on offer in the village, too.
