WRITING about the thrills and spills of looking after two young children could prove to be a golden idea for this creative Angmering mum.

Aspiring writer Jennifer Jain, of Darlington Close, has been celebrating after her online parenting blog, Jennifer’s Little World, was shortlisted for a national award.

Jennifer, who writes about her day-to-day activities with her two children, Max, four, and Mia, one, has reached the final 16 of the prestigious BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards, after being whittled down from around 8,500 other hopefuls.

The stunned mum, who only started her blog less than two years ago as a way to share pictures with family and friends, said her site is now viewed by hundreds of people on a daily basis.

Speaking about her award nomination, she said: “I was ecstatic, to be honest.

“I knew that the awards were coming up and it’s a pretty big deal in the blogging community but I never really thought that my little site would be nominated. So it’s nice to know that people are reading my ramblings.”

She said the news came as a welcome relief as little more than six months ago she was made redundant from her job as an information manager with the NHS.

Jennifer, who is currently a stay-at-home mum, now has the time to write about a range of topics, sharing her experiences with her children, the places they visit and the things they make together.

“It’s never a dull moment,” she admitted.

She has been nominated in the craft category of the competition.

Jennifer added: “I’m really pleased to have been recognised in this category.

“Blogging provides me with a creative outlet, and through my blog I have enjoyed some fantastic opportunities and experiences. Last month I was part of a group of parent bloggers that raised nearly £6,000 climbing Snowdon for Comic Relief.
