Angmering School students’ A-level grades defy national dip

THE Angmering School bucked the national trend of a slight dip in A-level successes, as its students celebrated a significant improvement over last year.

Angmering School sixth-formers celebrate their A-level successes

For the fourth year in a row, sixth-formers achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with 48 per cent of the entries in the A* to B range, an improvement of eight percentage points, compared with 2012.

Tony Kerrison, head of the sixth-form, said: “ “I am so proud of our students who, once again, have produced an excellent set of results.

“They have worked exceptionally hard over the last two years and I wish them every success in the future. They have been a fabulous group to work with and I am sure they will go on to do great things”.

David Brixey, head teacher, said: “There has been a lot of uncertainty about the exam system. Despite this, our students have set themselves challenging targets, worked hard and made the very best of the system.

“We have worked hard with them to make sure that they are set up well for the next chapter in their lives.”
