Angmering show attracts hundreds of weavers

The South East British Tapestry Group returned to the Mill House Gallery, at Highdown Hill, between last Friday and Sunday.
This year the theme of the exhibits was Weather Whether, with each artist interpreting the play on words using woven tapestry in their own unique style.

There were examples of very fine linen warps to chunky heavy warps and a ‘dazzling array’ of weft fibres, from fine wool and silks, to linens and heavy unspun yarns, woven together to create ‘movement, atmosphere, feeling and meaning’.
Gallery owner Margaret Appa said: “It was absolutely amazing.
“The total number of people who visited was 570 – it was really, really successful.

“All, in all it was a really good day.”
