Animals take centre stage at South of England Show

ANIMALS are taking centre stage at the South of England Show, Ardingly today (Friday) and tomorrow.

Thousands of animals are taking part.

World class riders will be in action in show jumping events, there will be horse and carriage driving, daily displays by heavy

horses, a polo demonstration on Saturday, and a range of other horses and ponies.

Champions and best of breed winners will take part in daily parades of cattle and other prizewinning animals and pigs will be in the limelight at a new pig village with a piggy pranks obstacle course.

Two quirky model cows are a big hit where children can have a go at milking Buttercup in the farming and wildlife area and see Ermentrude, a lifesize cow covered entirely in grass on display by Heathfield-based seed merchants Agrifactors which won best trade exhibit at the recent Heathfield show.

There's also action packed arena entertainment, a food hall, flower marquee, cookery theatre, crafts, displays, a fairground, competitions and trade stands.
