Parents and staff are also invited to the Coolham school’s anniversary for afternoon tea, beginning at the end of the school day at 3.15pm.

The date will also be a non-uniform day for the students, who will pay for the privilege by bringing in a plate of cakes, scones, strawberries, jam or cream.

A number of photographs taken over the years will also be on display for those with a taste for nostalgia.

The school was founded in 1891, with the original building in the centre of Coolham being its home until the current site was opened in 1973.

Anyone with a connection to William Penn is welcome to attend the celebration.
