There will be a special dragon trail illustrating the legend and posing new questions as to how we would deal with dragons today.

Elsewhere in the park attractions include an open air story telling theatre, KAPOW alternative wrestling and visits from Paddington Bear courtesy of Action Medical Research, based in Horsham.

The event, organised by Horsham District Council, runs from 12noon to 5pm.

HDC cabinet member for arts, heritage and leisure, Jonathan Chowen, said: “This year’s Sparks in the Park is all set to continue as the must visit community event of the year.
