Connoisseurs of art will be able to spot pieces of art created especially for the event by many of the area’s greatest artists, several of whom sell internationally.

Excellent contributions have also come in from young artists and talented families.

Eagle-eyed art collectors will be able to examine the artwork, but only after purchase will the creator of the work be revealed to them.

The event is open to the whole community at Lewes House, School Lane, Lewes from 7pm – 9.30pm on Friday, April 22.

Money raised at the auction will go towards the 15th annual Moving On Parade through Lewes on July 8, which celebrates the children’s move from primary to secondary school and into adolescence.

The theme this year is the great masters and mavericks of modern art, entitled “We are Walking Works of Art”.

Raphaella Sapir of Patina said: “It is very exciting to see the beautiful artwork that so many extremely talented people have made for this event.

“We are very grateful to everyone who has contributed their artwork and to Lewes District Council for their support.

“The auction will be a real celebration of local artistic talent and we hope people will come along and enjoy an entertaining and revealing evening at Lewes House next week.”
