Appeal after £4,000 of jewellery stolen in Goring

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a thief stole £4,000 worth of jewellery from a house in Smugglers Walk, Goring.

The homeowner returned to her house at 5pm on Monday, April 12, and heard a noise as someone ran out the back door.

The woman later discovered a pair of garden shears had been taken from the shed and used to force the patio doors at the back of the house.

A search had been made of the bedrooms and rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings had been stolen.

Damage costing about 1,500 was caused by the burglar breaking into the property.

Anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously or running away from the house is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1422 of 12/4.
