Appeal for information about Battle burglaries

Police have today (Friday, May 22) urged residents to ensure their homes are secure after receiving reports of two burglaries in Battle.

The first occurred sometime overnight on Friday, May 15, in Market Road, where a handbag was stolen.

The bag is described as black leather with leather flap and red stitching detailing on the fastening.

A small brown purse containing a small amount of cash and cards was also taken.

The second burglary took place on Saturday, May 16, in Western Avenue, sometime in the afternoon.

A burglar entered the property, searched parts of a room and took a small amount of cash from a handbag.

In both cases access to the properties was gained through insecure doors.
