Police have issued an efit of a man they want to talk to in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in Lewes.
The 21-year-old woman was walking on the pathway above Winterbourne Hollow at 6.40pm on Saturday, December 13, when she became aware of a man close behind her.
She moved over to let him pass, but he moved with her and then grabbed at her thigh and buttocks, speaking to her as he did.
She told him to leave her alone, but he moved in front of her and grabbed at her bottom again. She ran off up the road towards the prison crossroads and he walked off down the Hollow towards Winterbourne, verbally abusing her as he left.
He is described as white, middle-aged, around 5ft7 with short hair that was ‘lighter’ in colour. He was wearing a yellow hi-vis jacket with darker clothing under and possibly, jeans.
He spoke with a local accent and carried what appeared to be a carrier bag.
Detective Constable Charlie Ward said: “This was obviously a very alarming experience for the victim, but she has managed to assist us to produce a very good efit, which we hope someone will recognise.
“If you do recognise him, were in the area at the time of the attack or indeed, have been the victim of a similar approach yourself, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101 quoting serial 1280 of 13/12.”
