Police are appealing for witnesses following two burglaries in Chichester which are believed to be linked.

Officers were called to a house in The Drive on Thursday afternoon on May 26.

Sussex Police have confirmed that sometime between 10am and 3.40pm, the property had been broken into and subjected to an untidy search.

A number of gold jewellery items were taken including rings, necklaces and bracelets.

Another house in Maplehurst Road was burgled sometime between May 22 and June 2. Again, an untidy search was carried out and jewellery taken.

Detective constable Emma Fields said: “Following the burglary in The Drive, two men were seen running towards a white car parked in Chestnut Road, which was driven by a third man towards Lavant.

“We believe the two burglaries were carried out on the same day and with the addresses quite close together would like to speak with anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area.”
