Appeal for witnesses over Coneyhurst fire

THE CAUSE of a large fire in a fuel depot at Coneyhurst, near Billingshurst, on Friday night (19 August) is still being investigated.

Police and fire investigators have been unable to establish how the fire started which saw around 100 people evacuate from the surrounding area.

Detective Inspector Martyn Faint, of West Sussex CID, said: “The cause of this fire is still unknown and we would like to appeal for information from members of the public who might be able to assist in our investigation to discover how the blaze began.”
