Developer Iota Solar wants to reverse Rother District Council’s rejection after three attempts to build the farm off Catsfield Road.

The appellant believes the scheme complies with planning objectives and a lot of work has been done to compromise with the council and villagers, according to the appeal statement.

The original scheme was refused by the council in November, 2014, again in April, 2015, and for a third time in September for a smaller site as it would be a ‘significant intrusion’ into the countryside.

The council received 17 objections to the latest application but officers did recommend it for approval, however, the planning committee did not agree.
