Appeal to find £70,000 vintage car stolen at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Police are searching for a valuable and distinctive American 1950s car stolen from the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

During the afternoon of Sunday, September 13, the 1956 red and white Chevrolet Bel Air Coupe, registration number TAS 501, valued at £70,000, was stolen from a public area at the festival at the Goodwood Motor Circuit near Chichester.

The owner, who lives in Surrey, reported it to police late that afternoon.

PC Fiona Turnbull said; “Details of the car have been circulated but no trace of it has been found so far.

“If you were at the festival that afternoon, and saw it being taken from Aisle 48, or if you have seen it since, please get in touch with us via [email protected] or call 101, quoting serial 1065 of 13/09.
