ARCCC open garden success

Pamela and Reverend Paddy Buxton generously opened their Secret Garden, at the Mint, in Rye, on Saturday June 20 to raise funds for local charity ARRCC.

Visitors and locals queued at the gate from 10am, there were visitors from Japan, The Netherlands and Europe. They all thoroughly enjoyed the magical experience of walking through a ‘Miniature Chelsea’, something new to marvel at, in each different garden.

Mrs Buxton spent time giving gardening advice and tips to some enthusiastic gardeners, the weather was good and homemade cakes and plants sold rapidly. Sam and Amy entertained the visitors with music and song throughout the day. A total of £560.00 was raised on the day.

This event was the third Open Garden to raise funds for this local charity during the month of June. On June 8,e residents of Winchelsea opened nine Secret Gardens to raise funds for ARRCC.
