ARK is more than I could ever have imagined.

There are hundreds of words to describe the journey of ARK over the past five years.

We could talk about the journey with ARK family seeing freedom from drugs and alcohol, or the move from living on the streets and into a home of their own, to find or a job so they can stand on their own feet.

We could talk about the partnerships we have forged with the churches, council, police and other charities to help people out of poverty and away from crime.

But for me words like this don’t do ARK justice and so I prefer to paint a picture – a picture of a family facing life together in the good times and bad. That picture speaks a thousand words of love, commitment, hope, trust, freedom and a future.

ARK currently operates Monday, Tuesday and Thursday but I believe family life is 24/7, not just three days a week.

So we need a home of our own to provide meals, advice surgeries, job clubs, art, music and learning opportunities, support and counselling. We need a place that can be open seven days a week so that we can be available to help build meaningful lives for everyone who comes through our doors.

Finding a building for ARK is more than simply about bricks and mortar, it’s about a family living out their lives together in fellowship.

People ask me, “where do you see a home for ARK?”

My reply is that for us home is where the ARK is.
