MICHELHAM PRIORY'S RESIDENT PASS: Michelham Priory is offering residents of Upper Dicker or Arlington the opportunity of a Resident Pass for the 2017 season. The pass will only be issued to residents of Upper Dicker or Arlington who visit the Gatehouse at Michelham Priory between February 11 and 28 from 11am and 3pm. The following conditions apply; only one pass per household, proof of address must be shown in order to receive a pass (utility bill, driving licence etc.), the pass can only be used by the two adults whose signature appears on the card, and they will be asked to sign in with each use.

The pass entitles the holder to free entrance for the two adults and four children to Michelham Priory during normal opening hours throughout the 2017 season, including event days. The pass allows free admission to the Priory and grounds only. Any additional chargeable activities must be paid for at the normal rate. The pass cannot be used for outdoor theatre performances or any other ticketed event.

ARLINGTON ALLOTMENTS: Arlington Parish Council has a number of vacant plots on the allotments located behind the recreation ground in Upper Dicker Village. These are available for parishioners to cultivate as tenants. Should these plots continue to remain vacant then the opportunity will be advertised to others outside the parish. VILLAGE MARKET: Arlington Village Market will be held on February 7 between 10am and 11.30am in Arlington Village Hall.

ROADWORKS: Details of imminent roadworks in the two parishes (and elsewhere) are available from https://roadworks.org/ Between February 15 and 17 and possibly into March, there will be a diversionary route in place to cater for a road closure (C210) of Thornwell Road, Wilmington. This has implications for traffic volumes along Bayleys Lane and through Arlington Village.

ARLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL: The next Arlington Parish Council meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16 in Upper Dicker Village Hall. Further details will be available on the parish website at http://arlingtonparish.org.uk

ARLINGTON ARTS GROUP: On February 23 and March 1, the Arlington Arts Group will be welcoming Gillian Toft, who will holding demonstration and workshops in water colour and acrylic. The subject will be water, boats and harbours. Further details nearer the time. The group also meets every Thursday (except the third in the month) in Arlington Village Hall between 7pm and 9pm.

DICKER QUILTERS: A new group will be starting soon for existing patchworkers and those who would like to find out more about the craft. The group will meet on every second and fourth Monday in Upper Dicker Village Hall. For further details please contact Brenda 01323 849835 or Gill 01323 844867 in the evening.

COFFEE MORNINGS: Every Thursday morning, from 10.40am to noon in Upper Dicker Village Hall, a coffee morning and book exchange takes place.
