BERWICK PARISH COUNCIL: The next scheduled meeting of Berwick Parish Council is on January 26. The meeting will be held in Berwick Village Hall.

ROADWORKS: From today until November 29, outside 1 Downsway in Station Road, Berwick, there will be some carriageway incursions for waterworks.

COFFEE MORNINGS: Every Thursday morning, between 10.40am to noon in Upper Dicker Village Hall, a coffee morning and book exchange takes place.

YOGA: The Yoga class is held every Monday in Arlington Village Hall from 3pm to 4.15pm. It is open to all levels as the yoga taught here can be adapted to suit most individual needs and abilities. To book email: [email protected]

ARLINGTON ARTS GROUP: On December 1, between 7pm and 9pm, there will be a demo/workshop with Amanda Rose, silk painting. Places are limited to eight people, this the second week and participants will be moving onto creating something. Price is £10 per session as materials will be included. LITTER PICK: Tomorrow, Saturday, there will be a litter pick in and around Arlington Village, commencing at 10am outside Arlington Village Hall and ending at 1pm. The aim is to clear the verges of litter from the Berwick crossroads along Chilverbridge Road through the village and on to Arlington Road West. Kit will be provided such as litter grabbers, rubbish bags, disposable gloves, hi-vis vests. Tea, coffee and biscuits will provided to the volunteers at the start.

WHIST DRIVE: On November 30, staring at 7.15pm in Berwick Village Hall, there will be a Christmas Whist Drive. All are welcome.

CHRISTMAS MARKET: On December 6, in Arlington Village Hall between 10am and 11.30am, there will be a Christmas market. There will be a variety of stalls including home baking, traditional fresh bread and refreshments.

ARLINGTON PARISH COUNCIL: The Arlington Parish Council meeting will be held as a Planning meeting on December 15 at 7.30pm in Upper Dicker Village Hall. Parishioners are advised to check the parish website nearer that date for the Agenda http://arlingtonparish.org.uk

BLUEBELLS AND SILVER BELLS FAYRE: On December 10 in Arlington Village Hall from 2pm to 6pm, a Christmas Fayre fair will be held. There will 13 stalls selling all kinds of quality Christmas gifts, cakes and goodies. In addition the Seaford Silver Band will be playing Christmas songs and carols. There will be home-made refreshments from Philippa of the Bluebell Farm Shop, mulled wine, and an ale bar run by Long Man Brewery as well as teas and coffees. There will be something for the children too: a games stall and Lucky Dip. The tree will be lit at around 5pm, accompanied with the Silver Band and carol singers of course.

And that’s not all. There are some excellent prizes in our Christmas Draw this year including a Bluebell Farm Shop turkey, a Christmas Hamper, and a magnum of champagne, plus lots more exciting prizes. It is hoped that Arlington Christmas will become an annual event, so do please come along to support it if you can. There will be plenty to buy, eat and win. All proceeds will be going to the ancient church of St Pancras, Arlington, to help with various much-needed maintenance projects.

CHRISTMAS IN UPPER DICKER: The following events in Upper Dicker are scheduled during December. On Monday, December 12, there will be Carols on the Green followed by Santa and Mulled Wine at The Village Shop, Upper Dicker. On Thursday, December 15, there will be a Christmas Coffee Morning starting at 10.30am in Upper Dicker Village Hall. At 7.30pm on December 15 it is possible there will be an Open Mic session at Upper Dicker Village Hall. Volunteers are needed to help, contact Mark Lapworth on 01323 844531 or e-mail [email protected] Between 6pm and 8.30pm, it is possible there will be a Family Cinema Evening at Upper Dicker Village Hall. A screen and projector is sought, please contact Mark as above. On Sunday, December 18, Christmas lunch will be served at 12.30pm in Upper Dicker Village Hall. Minimum Donations are £3 under 16’s £5 adults. Please ring Marian on 01323 441458 to book.
