Arlington & Berwick

ARTS GROUP: Arlington Arts Group, a not for profit organisation, meets in Arlington Village Hall on Thursday evenings to paint, draw and chat. Most sessions are untutored, we have occasional tutors come in to demonstrate and we shall be organising some Saturday workshops this year. Every third Thursday evening we do something different such as trip out to an evening exhibition. Membership of the group is just £10 per year, untutored sessions are £5/£2.50 members, fees for tutored session, outings and workshops will vary. On Thursday March 24 we have the lovely Juliette Dodd coming along to run a workshop on Portraits in Pen and Ink, book your place in advance as it will be popular. £5 per person, 7pm to 9pm, Arlington Village Hall. COFFEE MORNINGS: There is a coffee morning and book exchange held in Upper Dicker Village Hall each Thursday morning between 10.40am and noon. Book exchange/purchase 20p.

LITTER PICK: Tomorrow, Saturday, between 10am and noon, Arlington volunteers will be clearing litter from The Street, Wilbees Road and Caneheath. The plan is to meet at the Arlington Village Hall at 10am to be allocated a stretch of lane to be litter picked. High-vis tabards, bin bags and plastic gloves will be provided. CONCERT: Tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 12.30pm at Berwick Church, the South Downs Youth Orchestra will be giving a concert. Please come along to support them and hear some very fine music being played. There will be a collection after the concert in aid of church funds.

BERWICK PARISH COUNCIL: The next full Berwick Parish Council meeting will take place on Tuesday March 29 starting at 7pm in Berwick Village Hall. There will be two meetings that night starting with the full council meeting and ending with the Annual Berwick Parish Meeting. Refreshments will be served on the night and an agenda will be issued nearer the time on the parish website at: http://berwickparishcouncil.org/ Members of the public and the press are welcome to attend both meetings.

BLUEBELL WALK: Advance notice of Bluebell Walk, Bates Green Farm, Arlington which will take place on April 19 and 20 in aid of Holy Trinity Church and Upper Dicker Village Hall. To help at the event or make cakes for sale or both, please contact Liz on: 01323 841541.

PARISH ASSEMBLY: Advance notice of the Arlington Parish Assembly which will take place on Thursday April 21 starting at 7.30pm in the Upper Dicker Village Hall.

DOG SHOW: Advance notice of the dog show to be held on Sunday, May 1 at noon in Upper Dicker Hall. Entries for classes taken from 11.30am. Lots of classes including fun and novice classes. Refreshments available.
