Armed police dealing with ongoing incident in Eastbourne

According to Sussex Police, officers were called to a domestic incident at Compton Street at around 12.15pm.

A spokesperson said: "Officers are currently on the scene and trying to engage with a man thought to be inside one of the properties. No one else is known to be inside the property at this time.

"The situation is ongoing and no further details are available at this stage."

According to eye witness Antony Meadley, the road has been closed and more than ten police vehicles are on the scene.
