Arrest over alleged attempted robbery in Hailsham


Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old was allegedly assaulted during an alleged attempted robbery in Hailsham.

The incident is said to have happened in Vicarage Road on October 28 between 2.15pm and 2.45pm, police said.

Police said the victim was on his bike outside the Waitrose store when he was approached by two boys.

Police said one of the boys allegedly punched him before trying to take his bike.

The victim suffered reddening on his face but did not seek hospital treatment, police said.

Police said a 16-year-old boy from Eastbourne, was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.

He was questioned and released on bail until December 11.
