Arson to blame for fire in Telscombe Cliffs

Arson was the cause of a fire at a home in Telscombe Cliffs on Bank Holiday Monday.

Newhaven firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze in the early hours of the morning.

Two fire engines were sent to a property in Telscombe Cliffs Way at 12.50am and remained at the incident until 2.10am.

The fire originated in the ground floor area and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building.

Two hose reel jets were used to tackle the flames and a fan used to blow smoke from building.

A fire investigation officer was called to the incident, along with scenes of serious crime officers.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was believed to be deliberate.
