In response to these fires, Sussex Police has said, “Arson and deliberate fires are a serious issue as they can endanger lives and divert valuable emergency service resources.
“Police work in close partnership with the fire service, ambulance service, local authorities and neighbourhood watch schemes to educate people on the dangers of arson and deliberate fires, with the aim of preventing future incidents of this nature.
“Police take all types of anti-social behaviour very seriously, as we acknowledge the distress and harm it can cause to people living and working in our communities.

“If an area has seen an increase in reports of anti-social behaviour, patrols will be carried out more regularly in that area to identify and deter any further criminal behaviour.”
