Arsonists destroy 200 tonnes of straw
TWO hundred tonnes of straw was completely destroyed when arsonists attacked a barn in Storrington.
Fire crews from Storrington, Findon, Steyning and a water carrier from Burgess Hill were called to the fire at Sullington Manor Farm, South Downs Way, Chantry Lane, at 8.20pm on Thursday.
The straw was left to burn under the supervision of the fire crews as it was considered too dangerous to try to stop the fire.
Firefighters were at the scene until 3am.
The incident is being treated as suspicious and a fire investigation officer is looking into the cause.
