Firefighters wearing breathing masks used three water hoses, a dry powder extinguisher and a small set of tools to quell the inferno, which sparked at 7am.

The fire completely destroyed the car, with the heat from the blaze scorching two garages, which suffered relatively minor damage.

Officers were at the scene until 8.10am with investigators concluding the fire was deliberate.

Witnesses to the attack, or those who may have any information about the incident, should call police on 101.
