AN INNOVATIVE mental health arts project opened its doors to the public on Friday in preparation for when it comes to Shoreham later this year.

The barge is equipped with woodwork equipment, which is used in creative and therapeutic activities.

Carl Kirby-Turner, workshop manager, said: Although we use it for woodwork, the whole concept is about building confidence.

But we ve come down to Shoreham to provide a venue for Moor Arts, which is going to be another workshop with the emphasis on arts and music.

The barge is going to be situated in Shoreham Harbour and this is the ambience which we ll be creating.

The barge on the River Adur is currently being renovated and they hope it will be open by the end of the year.
