Art show at museum for 73a Centre

Artists from the 73a Centre in London Road held a private viewing of their work at Bexhill Museum on Monday October 11, writes Andrew Voyce.

Timed to run from World Mental Health Day, the exhibition can be seen until December 4. Centre manager Liz Cara was full of praise for the venue and the support of curator Julian Porter.

Among the guests at the preview were Town Mayor James Carroll, mental health commissioners Kate Dawson and Kenny Mackay, as well as museum trustee Megan Traice and former Mayor Paul Lendon.

On display at the museum is digital art from members of the centre as well as conventional work produced at 73a. On behalf of the digital artists, Andrew Voyce commented that he and the other artists are always “thrilled” to see their work on show, and conventional art facilitator Janet Crosby was delighted with the work from her group. This is now the second exhibition of artwork from 73a Centre since the museum reopened following its major refurbishment, and everyone connected with the current display is delighted with the result.
